Island Acres Nursery is based on Woodford Island, in the Clarence Valley. We supply wholesale customers and sell directly to the public by appointment.
Our nursery is set on a 100-acre farm. From propagation through to advanced trees, growing is at the centre of what we do.
We focus on hedging, screening and feature trees that bring structure to a landscape, alongside a selection of palms, shrubs and grasses.

OUR CORE RANGE
The plants we keep growing.
Hedging is a key part of our nursery. Our lilly pilly range includes Syzygium ‘Select’ and ‘Resilience’, Acmena smithii minor, and weeping lilly pillies ‘Amaroo’ and ‘Green Avenue’. We also grow Murraya, Photinia, Viburnum, Ficus ‘Flash’ and water gums, alongside a changing selection of feature trees, palms, shrubs and other landscape plants.

PADDOCK GROWING
Making room for bigger trees and palms.
Our paddock-growing program is taking shape with around 200 palms across Spindle, Bottle, Alexandra and Chinese fan varieties. The mounded planting rows are designed to help manage drainage and water movement across the paddock. Next to go into the ground are Kurrajong and Illawarra flame trees, along with Bangalow palms, as we work towards growing larger specimens for future gardens and landscape projects.
PROPAGATION
Small beginnings. Future gardens.
We’re converting one of our growing tunnels into a dedicated space for cuttings, seedlings and native seed propagation. Our propagation work includes nursery favourites such as lilly pillies, Murraya, Photinia, Ficus ‘Flash’ and water gums. It’s hands-on work at the very beginning of a plant’s journey, helping us grow more of the hedging and landscape plants that will eventually find their way into your garden.
